(End-of-life) CM3670 High Sensitivity Long Distance Proximity Sensor

  CM3670 integrates a high sensitivity long distance proximity sensor (PS), ambient light sensor (ALS) and IR LED driver into one small package. It incorporates photodiodes, amplifiers and analog to digital converting circuits into a single chip by the CMOS process. The 16-bit high resolution ALS offers the excellent sensing capabilities with sufficient selections to fulfill most of applications whatever dark or high transparency lens design. CM3670 offers individual programmable high and low thresholds interrupt features for the best utilization of resource and power saving on the microcontroller. For the 8-bit proximity sensing function, CM3670 has a build in the intelligent cancellation scheme that helps to eliminate cross talk phenomenon. The persistence feature prevents the faulty judgment of proximity sensing due to ambient light noise.

  The adoption of the Filtron™ technology achieves the closest ambient light spectral sensitivity to real human eye responses and offers the best background light cancellation capability (including sunlight) without utilizing the microcontrollers' resources. CM3670 provides an excellent temperature compensation capability for keeping output stable under various temperature configurations. ALS and PS functions are easily operated via the simple command format of I2C (SMBus compatible) interface protocol. Operating voltage ranges from 2.5 V to 3.6 V.
